My first stop in the south of India was Kochi, and what a breath of fresh air it was! I had been told by my guide in the north that the south was very different and he was absolutely right. It was the first place by the sea that I visited in India and it was a nice change of scenery to get out of the urban craziness of the north. There is loads to see in Kochi, particularly the Chinese fishing nets which the city is famous for, and lots of cool shops and eateries. It’s a really lovely place to wander around.
